today is my first day as a so-called blogger. actually, i've no plans of sharing this blog with family and friends just yet, at least not initially. but who knows, right? but until i send them links, you are all mine, lol!

up till today, iv been using my cellphone to record how my day went, that is, my cellphone has also been my diary of sorts. But recently, its been acting up big-time...losing its signal intermittently, a major pain in the you-know-where. and i have not been relishing the slow process of backing up my calendar in preparation for reformating my phone. i got the phone (which was an freebie my MIL got from her phone service provider, and which got handed down to me..thanks Ma.) in september 09, so i have close to a year of backing up to do. Im done with february and march of 2010. then when i got an old (2009) planner, i started on december. i know, im totally not logical in my method. but the plan was to work backwards from december.but its been such a huge drag..fitting a whole day's activities into those tiny dated boxes is soooo tedious, arrgh! in fact, because of december, i havent gotten back to it for 2 weeks now. maybe when i finish here, id do that...or i could sew our new curtains..or maybe bake a batch of oatmeal cookies for jem. sounds like my phone wont get reformatted for a long time...and il be cut off from the text world! except for the few occasions when you really need to text, its been a good thing too to not be so accessible to the world at large.
anyway, the reason im starting this electronic diary is so i wont have to keep using my phone to record my days, weeks, months.(less entries, less to back up!)
so here goes:
july 13, 2010 started uncharacteristically early for me...jem woke me up because i told him to last night. of course, i needed a few more minutes before i finally did get up. i knew i had to beat jem to the bathroom or else id be left behind. so while he was reheating last night's left-overs for his breakfast, i took my cold water shower. (note to self: add a water heater to my xmas wishlist.)then a quick change and a packet of quaker oatmeal cookies for my breakfast. then found a book from my unread-book cabinet to put into my bag coz i had just finished the one from yesterday.nothing beats a book(or magazine) for long commutes, or long lines at the grocery!
it was a nice change to be with DH early on a workday commute. we were laughing coz he could be mistaken for a student(and given a fare discount) with his regular outfit of black pants, plain white shirt (barong uniform having been left at the office) and backpack! my DH has what people call boyish good looks! he'd grimace just about now if he was reading this...but he's not..so i can say whatever i like,LOL!
i got to the medical plaza lab just around 8:30...that being the reason for the early start to my day! i was to meet leah, the ob/ultrasonologist who was to take my first ever transvaginal ultrasound.(i must admit, i was nervous a bit.) she was also my dorm-mate when i was in high school at st scho bacolod.she was a freshman while i was a senior there.and we havent seen each other since 1992!! while waiting for her, i looked out the window, and i saw this tall slender woman come down the stairs. i didnt think it was her at all, until she started bouncing up and down when she caught sight of me sitting just inside the door! I was amazed how leah has turned into a gorgeous young lady! such a sweet girl, i got a kiss and hug from her! and because she's tall and i was wearing flats, she had to bend to hug me, haha! we caught up a bit with each other's lives, commiserated coz we had both lost a parent(her mama, my papa),and both of us keeping the remaining parent company while our sibs arent in town. all this talk while she gave me a gown, and got me onto the exam table!
i was feeling a bit funny(weird funny) about the second(exam)part..but she helped me relax with our chitchat.she even took the time to show me around the ultrasound pictures: my uterus is nicely positioned(not twisting as i always feared!),with no abnormal cysts and that i have more than adequate follicles (black spots on my ovaries in the picture). from their size(the follicles) and the thinness of the endometrium, i could be ovulating later that i thought. yeah, about a good week later than i always expected! aint that nice to know!all these years...and been timing it wrong. :( no wonder there's be times when jem would ask me 1 week after my "ovulation" if i was "dangerous"(code for ovulation) and i would smile, shake my head and say no. man,and he was right! that'l teach me to argue with all the evolutionary evidence that males are hard-wired(no pun intended) to respond to the female! like i texted MBJ (our classmate from bio and who was the one who told me about leah...and how she helped them[mbj and jessie] get pregnant)...its back to the drawing-board for us...or bedroom!:)

the bottom line is that iv been given the go-signal to take clomiphene( a fertility drug which will make sure 1 of my follicles becomes dominant and ripen just right) on my next cycle. mbj said she'll save her samples for me, yay! those things cost more that P250 per pill, dang! good thing one takes them only for 5 days only. that is until you menstrate after the 1st cycle then you need to repeat the 5 doses again but take 2 pills each day, ouch!
and the bonus for this day was my ultrasound was free, thanks leah darling, i owe you biggie! im so proud of you...and your accomplishments! she calls me "joy"..my ssa dormmates all did back then.im called different names depending on a life stage, iv only just noticed :) but thats good for another blog, remind me one day.
as id already decided to take the day off (had used DH's fone to text my bhw & nurse not to expect me at the clinic), i dropped by the stores where i got more fabric to reinforce the curtains i got last week. the plan is to make a fabric divider for an archway in our long bedroom, so the a/c can actually cool our sleeping area(i doubt if our closets/dressing area would object to the exclusion!). but i havent busted out the sewing machine...coz iv been here, typing all this time, lol.maybe tomorrow, promise.
and i also got some toys for my furbaby tilda. she has been chewing everything in sight, including mutt's doghouse(which she has managed to commandeer too!). i went up to the toy section looking for cheap squeaky toys for her to maul but i was afraid she'd choke with the puny ones i found there.but i found a P10 frisbee..so i got that instead and a rattling plastic ball with cut-outs so she can grab it with her teeth. i swung down to the hardware section(where they kept the pet supplies too)..and found a dog frisbee for P65 so i got that too. and a squeaky hamburger with sturdier material. and it was home for me. before calling jem at his office, i had a couple of laughs watching tilda play with her rattley ball. that should keep her occupied for now. must just remember to put it away each night if we didnt want to be rattled awake in the middle of the night!!
anyhow, i called the DH at work to share the news, and he said we'd make plans for our next tryst...the big thing being not to exercise too heavily in the next week(him) and for me to finish my curtain/divider for our love nest, lol!
then i sat in front of my laptop and started all this. and oh, i took some pics of me and my result with the webcam. which reminds me i should have checked my camera at the repairshop today. oh well, il drop by tomorrow after clinic.
its time for me to start dinner...its crab & corn soup, hungarian sausage and some greens from mama's garden.
talk to you again tom. a bientot!
