I got up a lil later this morning than the past days. Tilda woke us up around 4am because it had started raining. And she's a water dog too, boggles the mind! Anyhow, the DH and i moved her from the garage to the porch so she could get into the doghouse. And when my sleep is interrupted, i tend to over-sleep right after. But not by much, i signed in 7:48am so i had a lot of time to spare. I met shirley at the logbook again, and she told me about how her service vehicle had broken down yesterday and she had to hitch a ride with another van...but she got to her clinic late too. It seems this new proposal from the admin is not working that smoothly. Admin wanted all the doctors to sign in at the CHO so that they can all carpool and save on gas, vehicles and drivers. But it doesn't look that way at all. But for now, i couldn't care less...while the others waste time wrangling for serviceable vehicles and drivers, i'm happy to just walk to my clinics( as long as it's not too hot or raining).
So yay, I was able to go walking this morning before work! It just took me 20 mins to get to my Lopez Jaena clinic. But when i got there, the health workers hadn't opened shop yet, so i went to the eatery across the street to grab something to eat.(I almost never eat breakfast at home on workdays, i just stash a packet of oatmeal cookies and a bottle of water in my bag and i'm off). They had fresh puto (rice cakes), so i got a couple and placed an order of 150 pcs of the ube (purple yam) variety for delivery tomorrow. We're going to Sagasa in Bago City for the wake of Izzy's dad (yeah, he passed away a few days after our visit)and the DH agreed to my idea to bring food over.
After my ultra-quick breakfast of puto and water, i even had time to trawl the racks at an "ukay-ukay" (the local version of a thrift store!) Every Thursday, the parking area in front of the health center becomes an ukay-ukay where vendors set up racks and piles of used clothes, beddings, even bags. I've gotten coordinating and sturdy curtains from the same ukay-ukay at a fraction of the cost if id gotten fabric from the stores to make them. I love saving, don't you? Anyway, i found 3 tank-tops (2 of which looked brand-new) which i got for P70 for the 3! I love those tanks with built in bras in 'em (even if i still wear a pair under them)...and i'm happy to have pretty things to wear when i work out. Just a few more things to keep me inspired with exercise, lol! I need all the help i can get! :)
The staff finally arrived while i was at the ukay-ukay and we were able to start clinic soon after. And because i had food in me, i managed to last the whole morning without a snack break (just a water break) so we made short work of all the pedia and adult patients! Then when i finished with the prenatal mothers, i was able to leave. I was even able to get a nap at home later in the afternoon, so im pretty rested.
The DH is back to his judo practice and he should be home any minute now. We're watching "Salt" later so i want to finish blogging before he gets home.
Tomorrow is Edil Fitr, the Moslim holiday to commemorate the end of Ramadan and it's a holiday for all Filipinos. We might even have a dvd marathon tonight because of it. :)
So, goodnytie dears... A bientot!
