then Malou had this bright idea to take pix of Kyla beside the framed Lady of Guadalupe:
this is her with her chinese bow, left-over from the karate kid 3 i suspect.:)
Kyla checking her model
and the final shot..love that Kyla is so game for anything! which is convenient really, since her mom is kooky too and usually full of all the zaniest ideas!
it was nice to be able to reconnect with all the people we haven't spent time with recently. the AZATRI's are busy preparing for a trade fair by next month in manila. nang judy is nursing a cold and anoy nene is still taking in wild creatures, usually reptiles, but he's gotten (and lost) an osprey more recently. anoy bill and ditas wont be going to manila for anoy bong's bday after all. bummer. so its just the infantes for the manila trip then. we're pretty excited for the food trip that joben has planned for us, wooohooo!
today, i was part of the team for a medical mission that a local radio station hosted as part of their 21st year anniversary. i got there pretty early, while they were still hearing mass. then they had a ribbon-cutting for the newest addition to the station so we started almost 10am. good thing there weren't that many patients, most likely because it was a rainy morning! so we finished by noon for lunch. i managed to keep away from the lechon(roast pig, a standby for almost all Filipino celebrations, big or small) and just had some mashed taters with some tender beef slices! wish i had stayed away from the soda too. but overall, not too shabby. :)
we got the afternoon off, so it was home for me by 1pm. however, a city-wide black-out wouldn't let me play online. the next best thing to do on a cool, rainy afternoon: nap! what a treat*happy smile*!when i woke up 4ish, the power was back and i could play all i wanted...at least, until i had to start dinner. i defrosted 1 chicken breast and some ground chicken parts...the former to be made into thai chicken, and the latter into a healthier burger. I was supposed to make the thai marinade from scratch, but i was missing some ingredients...but i remembered the DH kept a thai spice jar in the ref: so i cheated, hehe. i cooked just 1 breast coz mama and i aren't fans of white meat, so it'll most likely fall into the DH's plate anyhow. i was just starting on the patties when the DH arrived from work. he works best with meats, so he spelled me in the kitchen. and he made short work of it too, so dinner was soon ready and done with.
posting photos here is still a bit tedious for me, or maybe i just need to play around with it more, to get the hang of it.:)
btw, as i was writing this, i got an email that melissa of dreamweaverdesigns had visited my previous post and has decided to follow me too, yay!! this is me turning pink, again, lol! loving the comments and new friends too!
well that's it for tonight. talk to you again...a bientot!
